if it's just a sales tax increase... the rate would go from 7.725 percent in washoe county... to 8.265 percent... just over a half-a- percent bump. that's estimated to cost the average citizen an additional 7 dollars and 26 cents a month. if it's a combination of sales and property taxes... sales would go up .425 percent... an additional 5.71 per month... and property taxes would go up 5.5 cents for every dollar of assessed value... that would add between 1.35... and 8 dollars per month... to your bill. both options drew mixed reviews from committee members and public commenters... so the committee decided to delay a vote until their next meeting. the committee has until april second to draft the ballot question. marinello beauty school closed all 56 locations in the country today...including the campus in reno. the nationwide closure comes after the u.s. department of education pulled funding for marinello this week, accusing the school of several
